Simone Collins has over 35 years experience playing both piano and organ, is an accomplished performer, has published her own music arrangements, and has over 20 years of teaching experience.
Playing for enjoyment
Simone is happy to work with adults who would like to play for enjoyment, especially on the organ, regardless of age! Limited lesson slots are available during school hours.

Piano lessons are conducted as individual classes, not in groups. Each student receives personal one-on-one attention from Simone in her professional home studio in Canning Vale.
Simone also prepares students for exams, primarily through the AMEB, Rockschool, and AGMS. With a speciality in modern / contemporary music, Simone is one of the most experienced teachers in Perth for successfully putting students through Rockschool Piano & Keys exams.
Our Canning Vale home studio has expanded to include rock drum lessons for beginners. Ariana Carot Collins is an experienced performer, as the drummer of Perth rock band The Ruby Keys.
I’ve finally had the time to put together a handbook for new families! While my website is comprehensive, I’ve expanded what used to be a folder of handouts into a handy 10 page desktop published booklet with key info and step-by-step guides to getting started with some key apps.
I’ve launched a new Music With Simone YouTube Channel, with the first videos “piano tutorial” style where coloured lights hit the keys so you can see which notes are being played and how long for. You can watch the first video below:
Occasionally over the years I’ve been contacted to ask if I can provide a gift certificate for adults a number of piano lessons. I’ve been able to fulfil those requests, without offering standard packages. In the lead up to Christmas this year, I’ve finally standardised some gift certificate lesson packages…
I’m very excited to be selected to take part in the pilot programme of the “Safe & Healthy Music Teaching” course being run by BodyMinded, the Sydney Alexander Technique. The first workshop will take place this weekend.
A massive congratulations to Connor for earning a Distinction in his Rockschool Piano Grade 4 exam. He impressed the owner of the music school that the exam took place at so much that he has been offered a job teaching beginners there!
I enjoyed presenting a workshop through the AMEB (WA) on the Rockschool syllabus from a teacher’s perspective on August 22nd. It’s an exciting option, which my piano students are thoroughly enjoying!
