One of the apps I use with students is Rhythm Swing, which helps students learn to follow rhythms precisely. They must both tap the rhythm precisely on the beat and hold the notes for the correct (exact!) length. It takes beginners a while to be able to confidently do both these things, particularly with complicated rhythms at speed. So to acknowledge the achievements of students who have shown mastery of this by beating the “boss” in each of the 3 levels on Rhythm Swing – which in many cases represents weeks or months of trying! – I maintain a “Hall of Fame” in my studio which students are added to when they complete each level.
Today one of my newest students, Kai, beat the boss of the first level of Rhythm Swing, and has now joined the Rhythm Swing Hall of Fame. Well done Kai!
