2023 Achievements

Another school year is now over! Congratulations to all students for their hard work this year. It has been wonderful to see everyone’s achievements, whether it’s progressing through books or sitting graded exams.

It’s been a busy year for exams and festivals, with many students sitting exams and performing in front of an audience for the first time this year. November has been particularly busy for exams, plus Connor auditioned to enter a music program at the WA Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) at Edith Cowan University – we are waiting anxiously to hear if he is successful!

Music Festivals

5 students entered the inaugural Australian Guild of Music & Speech “Virtual Fest”. Entries were graded either bronze (lowest), silver, gold or platinum (highest). Congratulations on the following results:

  • Piano or Keyboard Solo – Preliminary: Manuli (Platinum), Sethuli (Gold)
  • Piano or Keyboard Solo – Grade 1: Elizabeth G (Platinum), Maya (Gold)
  • Piano or Keyboard Solo – Grade 3: Sarah (Gold)

3 students also performed in front of an audience at the West Australian Music Teachers’ Association Recital & Concerto Competition.

This year I also oversaw my daughter Ariana to sitting her Rockschool Grade 8 Drums exam and consequently completing the AMEB Gold Award; she is going into Year 12 next year and also aiming to study at WAAPA, in 2025.

Congratulations one and all!
