Frank Mills’ “Happy Song” was the first organ arrangement that I ever wrote down, around the age of 9 years old!
Writing arrangements was a requirement for the Yamaha Organ exams I completed, and I’m so glad that I had to arrange songs from an early age, as I soon discovered a love of it.
This was a fun little song to play at an early intermediate level and a quick one to digitize. It’s a shame that video recordings weren’t really a thing back then as few people owned video cameras. I played this one on the Yamaha Electone FX20, and did write down the registrations I used at the time, but being a 3 manual instrument, I can’t easily reproduce what I ended up doing with the song on that instrument.
My Happy Song organ score is now available from my collection on Sheet Music Plus.
